last night we drank at union street for the last time as they are moving out of there tomorrow...(union was my first place when i moved to peterborough) can't say i'm going to miss it...though it was good for parties cause the place was a wreck, haha. we went to the trash for katelyns birthday. overall a very good night out! (i don't get out much...like out to the bar i mean) so it was a lot of fun! above are some of the photos i liked the best from the night...

also, i wore my $1 dress/skirt and LOVED it!

i do not want to go to work today; i guess it's not so bad. i do have tomorrow off! wahoooo. i wish tomorrow was pay day (one more week.one more week) now more then anything i'm just excited to keep putting monies into my savings account and watching it grow grow grow!! feels awesome.

yesterday i got this book out of the library,

it is pattie boyd's story of her life. pattie boyd (for those who don't know) was a model & actress in the sixties and was married to george harrison of the beatles, as well as eric clapton...her stories really interesting and i've been having a hard time putting it down. lucky for me i have the day off today, i'll probably finish it later tonight. so if you're looking for a good read (i always am) give this a try...except if you're in ptbo i already have it taken out at the library :)

wahoo! my hair finally did something i liked today (it's been awhile)

i think curls might be my best option right now, in these growy outty times. i just want it to be looooong (shutup carly, shutup!! you complain about your hair oh so much and it's really rather annoying)

so! tomorrow is one of my days off this week. it's going to rain...now normally that would annoy the crap out of me cause today was oh so lovely and of course it will rain on my day off but to be honest, i kind of want an excuse to stay inside all day. whenever it's nice i feel like i have to be outside or i'm wasting the beautiful weather. well...if it rains i have an excuse to stay inside and design/decorate some of the journals i got in this week. i'm so excited to do them, i have some really fun ideas for them!! mikey & i have the day off together...i forsee a lot of video gaming for him and a lot of crafting for me. that and we have a fridge stocked full of beer so that's not bad.

i know, i know i'm a crazy cat lady...i'm sorry. okay no i'm not...look how cute she is! she's found a new sleeping spot; on top of some of mikeys records.

i had seen these on a blog somewhere and fell in love...didn't know what they were or how i could get one...then today while i was out and about before work i found them! in a shop right below my apartment too! i was surprised at how inexpensive they were and happy cause they are so so so cute! now she lives on our mantle...& i could see her having some new friends in the near future.

ps: i need more friends who blog; i ♥ having blogs to read with my morning tea.

andy is soooo cute! every morning after i have my cereal, i give her the bowl and she doesn't just lick from it she does this cutie little thing where she puts her paw in, gets some milk on it and then licks her paw...

you know what i love? loving a song, forgetting about it and then listening to it on repeat for a couple of hours. i had forgotten how much i loved 'hometown glory' by adele and 'little bit' by lykke li...they both have such pretty voices. that and i loooove the words to 'little bit' it's really cute.

that and she's a super babe.

yesterday was hot out, i wore my overall shorts and got lots of nice compliments on them! it rained later on in the evening but when i was getting off of work at midnight, it was a nice light summer rain...and it smelled like summer and that made me smile.

today i am opening my savings account; feels pretty good!

ps: in the winter i was at value village and found a brand new pair of these rope sandals...i was with kirk&jeff at the time and they both made fun of me for getting them but i thought they were pretty neat! i've been meaning to check the tag (these are the exact pair i have) and it turns out it's a real company; Gurkees...they sell for like $30 and i got mine for $3.99

i have a casual grey one but it's definitely an around-the-house romper, not a go out-in-public romper so i ordered this one today on ebay;

i'm definitely excited for it! i was cleaning out my closet today (& bringing out all of my summer things cause i think summer is finally here!) organizing all my dresses and things, and i noticed that i barely have any green in my wardrobe so this will be a perfect new addition!!

today is sooooo nice out. i couldn't believe how hot it was! first day wearing shorts this season...and i got to wear my new sandals!! well, time to eat some lunch and get ready for work :( i hate having to work on days like today. i just want to be outsiiiiide!! oh ya. i almost forgot...earth was amazing!! it was sososo good. it was verrrry cute. i was squealing so much at all the little baby animals (SO cute!) i think mikey was embarassed cause he kept shushing me. it was a very intense move and really makes you feel like such a small part of this world. it's crazy to think that there is so much more out there that most of us will probably never get to see or experience...i left feeling like i've lived in a box my whole life.

i am currently at the laundry mat...first time actually going to a laundry mat since we moved into our apartment (...in october) now please don't think that means we haven't done laundry since october because that would be disgusting. it means we usually do it for free at mikeys mum or i'll bring laundry home when i go home to pickering...our sheets & towels badly needed to be done though so here i am. and hey, how sweet is it that they have wireless internet?

oh ya. more news in the life of carly...i think i'm officially a grown up. want to know why? because i've decided that instead of buying a fancy nikon dslr camera like i desperately have wanted to since i was about...ohhh, sixteen? i have instead decided to put the monies i get back from my income taxes towards opening a savings account. i've had one for most of my life...until i moved out (really) on my own and have to pay for eeeeverything, now it's been a little bit harder to have one but i figure it's a perfect time to start with a big lump sum from my tax return. look at me, all grown up & making mature decisions.

...though a camera would have been nice.

like my dad said, i have plenty of time in life to buy a nice camera and he's right!!

as i mentioned the other day, we made some changes to the apartment...

my desk stayed as is...

(still need to re-arrange the photos as they clearly don't look good where they were before)

we have so many movies and need more space/a bigger unit for them.

this is blurry cause she was moving...but she was stretched out like this for so long and it really was the cutest thing.

today while i was out, i saw this boy who was probably 8 (max) wearing this shirt that said "he is gay" and had an arrow pointing to the right (like those 'i'm with stupid' tees) and it actually made me very angry. i almost wanted to ask where he got it, what brand thinks it's okay to mock gay people and the next question is, why oh why does his mother let him wear it? it bothered me. a lot.

anyway though! i had a successful shopping trip; got some sandals, the usual couple pairs of flip flops, a dress, a white cardigan, a cute tank top, a chocolate chip cookie dough candle, tea lights and a few other little things.

the photos don't really do them much justice...but they're really neat (mum, remember them? we saw them the last time you were visiting...and i liked them but wasn't sure...well, i've been doing this thing lately [to save $$] where i will see something and if i LOVE it (i'll get it) if i just like it but am not 100% certain, i won't buy it right away and if i find myself thinking about it at a later date, i'll go back to get it...if they have my size, it's meant to be) it's a good way to not impulse buy...which i am known to do from time to time, like most gals. so there's a tip for all you impulse shoppers out there, it really works!

yessss! i just checked the movie listings and earth is playing here in town!! mikey & i are going tonight for date night. i think it's going to be soooo neat. i love stuff like that (i always use to watch animal shows on discovery with my dad) so i'm really excited to see this :) & i love movie popcorn.

it looks sooo nice out today (14 degrees right now!) i can't wait to get outside. today was pay day!! i've paid my bills (rent, internet, utilities) and now it's time for some fun. i'm heading to winners, chapters, value village, michaels and wherever else i can walk to!! it's so gorgeous out.
