it kind of creeps me out that my neighbours (neither of which i know really well) might know mine and mikey's entire life just because the walls are so thin here. i can hear my one neighbour's music constantly and right now i can hear him and his mum talking - word for word...kinda weird. another reason why i want a house real bad.

lately i have been loving shelves.

so many neat ideas...i store away inspiring photos like these for when i have my own place and my own space so that i can do all of these things. the bad thing about loving to shop and living in a small apartment is that eventually you run out of places to put things. i need to do some serious re-organizing in my craft closet/on my desk as it's getting out of control. i think i will do this today before work. yep, i will find any excuse to not go to the gym lately (blah!)

i also need to put away all of my laundry from yesterday...i hate that part. going to the laundry mat and doing laundry isn't so bad, sorting the colours isn't so bad but putting the clothes away after...does anyone else hate that part?

on the plus side, smelling like clean laundry is great!

i just love photos of people holding hands, honestly i don't know one girl who doesn't...and those umbrellas, that photo makes me feel; hopeful.

today was a rainy rainy day...so what did i do? put on my new (/old...value village purchase) floppy hat and got my last drumstick out of the fridge and had a little summer photoshoot...with myself, yes. haha! even though today was rainy it was very very good!! i talked to mum on the phone, spent a lot of time at the computer, getting inspired & got crafty.

i did this painting...my friend hannah let me borrow that quote. i thought it was so cute & so perfect for the clouds/sky and balloon heart. this is done on a recycled piece of board that was being thrown out (the white parts came on it) it was neat so i saved it from the trash! speaking of 'the trash' the owner has asked me to do a painting (like the ipod notebook i did) for his new bar that is opening called spankys! how cool? i'm really stoked on it. i also made some cute felt flower pieces for my hair. oh, and a frame (with similar felt flowers). also mikey and i made a delicious dinner...yum!!

happy birthday to me

i just bought this little guy online as a birthday present to myself...i don't buy myself things all that often anymore so i thought, why not? i saw it on a blog i read daily (http://decor8blog.com/) & thought it was oh so cute & perfect. it takes mini polaroid photos and i am so excited to get it and start snapping photos. i already have a hundred ideas for what i can do with them.

today i also made a snuggly for andrea (mikeys sister) and another custom order notebook + a cottage journal for my gramma because she always keeps one so i thought i would send her one of mine! currently i am extremely frustrated with my sewing machine as i am having the darndest time getting the bobbin back in...ugh!! it's driving me nuts; i want my old one back!!

well...terminator is on & there is red wine to be drank...more later.

i have been so very tired lately. not throughout the day or anything, i'm okay once i'm up but it's the getting up part that has been quite challenging lately. it's strange too as i can see that it is a gorgeous day outside, just...well, our bed is so incredibly comfortable. maybe we need to make it less comfy so i don't stay in it until noon everyday. no, that's just silly. i do have a lot to get done but i am saving that for my days off (tues&wed) which mikey & i have off together...i am soooo stoked on this as it's been a long time since we've had one day off together, let alone two! wahoo ♥

i am in desperate need of groceries & clean clothes so those are definitely up there on the 'to do' list. on it as well are a few custom orders, some new ideas and lots & lots of cuteness!

i am sooo in love with this; what a great find!! i really hope i can find some ink for it and make it work cause i want to write so many letters!! last night i also found a really cute floppy hat, a small pan (to make the perfect egg) and a pretty braided silver bracelet. i love thrifting! after we went to a&w for some burgers and root beer out of the big heavy frosty mugs (mmm! so delicious) then when mikey & i got home, we both had new books to read (he's reading hells angels by hunter s.thompson & i'm reading the gum theif by douglas coupland) so we cuddled on the couch and read our books; it was the perfect friday evening.

yesterday (well two nights ago) i did not sleep one wink. when there's something pressing on my mind, i find it really difficult (mum, i must get this from you...ps: thannnnks) anyway, it wasn't all that bad...i saw the sunrise & i wasn't even that tired yesterday...in fact, i had a really really lovely day yesterday! after recieving some monies in the mail (best!) lianne & i went for lunch at 38 degrees & it was sooo delicious! there was even bite sized dessert (which i think is a fantastic idea! just the right amount) white chocolate dipped cheesecake & yes, it was as heavenly as it sounds! then we went to the funky buddha where i bought some gorgeous accessories! (cheap too!) i wish they photographed better because the beadwork is insane...

then we went on a long walk around east city (a part of peterborough that i had never been too before. it was so gorgeous...so many beautiful old houses that i want to live in, with lovely porches and waterfront. we looked at some shops (including an antique store that we did not belong in, we were thinking it was going to be cute kitchsy antiques...uh uh, it was like royal antiques; everything was at least $1000) then we met up with dan&jesse and went to the only for some beers and patios and chats.

i met up with mikey when he was done work and we went to sapporos for all you can eat sushi which was so delicious; we ate soooo much! then we rented some 'curb your enthusiasm' came home, brought the mattress into the living room and did some serious cuddling!

it was the best day ♥ !!

today i have lots to do.

1. shoppers drugmart for stamps, hair dye & envelopes
2. go to the gym
3. fabricland for fabric & of course, buttons!
4. pay bills! bills! bills!
5. make a curtain cover for our video collection
6. go to the library for some new reading material
7. mail out some goodies
8. get groceries!
9. try & squeeze in some laundry in there somewhere

i better get going...it's almost two already!

oh.my.gosh

yes, this is exactly what it looks like. while being mega bored & not being able to sleep, i wanted to see if anyone in my area was selling things on etsy...low and behold; a cloth maxi pad! wow peterborough, you've done it again! now my question is...do you reuse it? cause it's $10 & i mean, it looks re-usable. on another note...gross!

i had much better luck searching toronto...okay, well not much better luck but i did come across this cute little guy from birdatthewindow & i thought i would share;

i know that every girl knows what it's like to grow your hair out...& how the only thing thing that looks remotely good is when it's pulled back; welcome to my life currently. i really need a trim...get my layers back.

and no i am not sleep blogging - uggggh!! not being able to sleep is super duper annoying.
