they are seriously the prettiest shoes i have seen all season. i know the seasons just begun but seriously...they are so perfect!! i would love them in every colour but i realllllly love them in nude ♥

haven't been posting much this week/last weekend, i kind of just forgot i guess? i've been busy too though, with 9 hour days at work, a few dinners and having friends here this weekend, i haven't had much time to blog!

the weekend was great, having richy & jujubes come to visit, we had a TON of fun! i didn't take many photos (stupid.stupid.stupid) but there are other peoples i will share soon, we were pretty cute at the costume party!

i've had a rough week at work, really just at my wits end there...like, really really; i am just excited for the 3 day weekend that is fast approaching and the weather that is supposed to be accompanying it...it's supposed to be glorious out. now, i would rather be with my mum in new york this weekend (the lucky duck) buuut if i can't, i will settle for lovely spring weather!

i don't remember the last time i went to value village and didn't get an old mug i really liked, hence why i have so many! i love my little vintage mug collection...this one matches my purse (which you can see on the messy table...oops!)

ANYWAY!
i was getting tired of seeing one too many ohmygod-my-forehead-is-HUGE photos & thinking i should cut my bangs again...

so i did!
i was SUPER nervous cause since i had been growing them out for about 6-8 months, they were pretty much just another layer of hair & not actually 'bangs' anymore...i've always cut my bangs before but i was nervous cause it wasn't just a trim or anything!
i think i did okay though...

oh, so this is what i'd look like if my cheeks weren't the size of a toddlers...

this cold of mine is totally overstaying its welcome.

i currently have the raspiest voice and it really hurts to talk for more then a few seconds...therefore i had to take another sick day from work; i hate this!! i feel fine energy-wise but my throat is just so raw and sore...blaaah!

today is bryans dirty 30 birthday!

we were out last night with everyone (mikeys dad & girlfriend were in town) we went to st.veronus for dinner & drinks which was delicious & fun and tonight we're going to mikeys mums for another dinner, mmm! she makes the best dinners :) ...HAPPY BIRTHDAY YA OLD SHIT!!

we will be celebrating saturday with a costume party; can't wait!

i don't start work today until 11 which is lovely because i got to have a nice morning with a cup of tea before work which rarely happens. i had a great 1o+ hour sleep last night and am feeling a little better today (at least i can breathe out my nose) thankyou for all the get better wishes sent my way, i think it worked! at this rate i will be 100% by saturday

edit // i only lasted at work til 1.30...unfortunately working somewhere that requires a voice for the entirety of the day, is not good for someone getting over a cold. i'm at the stage where i sound a lot worse then i feel. my throat is REALLY raw and scratchy & was getting worse and worse after every call...blah.

however! good news (& kind of weird since i posted this entry about going to concerts with my family earlier today)...my dad emailed me and we're all going to see 'them crooked vultures' in may which should be lots of fun!! i love outings like this!

aside from drinking lots of water, green tea & taking cold meds, i have also found a little 'trick' to feeling better...pretending that you're not sick. if you loaf around and do nothing all day (sleeping is good but not the WHOLE day) chances are you're going to feel shittier BUT i've found that if you start doing stuff, cleaning, tidying and busying yourself with other stuff, you almost (almost) forget that you're feeling crappy. i have been tricking myself into thinking i'm not sick today...though i definitely still am,

i got a lot of cleaning done today and it's not even two yet!

i thought i would share a wicked new product that works wonders upon wonders! vacuums work too but if you need to get rid of cat/dog hair on futons, beds, chairs, etc...try this! it really does work :)

today is a sick day for miss carly,

working at a job where you literally talk on the phone for 8 hours straight does not leave much room for a scratchy raw throat...so i decided not to talk at all today and let it rest because it hurts so bad and i need to be better for the rest of the week. i hate getting sick, it seems to just snowball in a matter of 24 hours...and i got little to no sleep last night due to the fact that i couldn't breathe out of my nose or mouth...ugh!

at some point i will need to get out and get nighttime cold medicine as we're all out, throat lozengers and maybe some banana popsicles & chocolate popsicles (this is what my mum always brought me home when i was sick...and some gossipy mags)

side note: last night i felt so crappy i actually said "i want my mum" ...yes i'm 23 years old and sometimes when i get sick, i still wish i lived at home.

so that whole work thing i mentioned but didn't, kind of resolved itself cause i waited to long to make a decision (i thought i had til this friday but apparently it was first come first serve) soooo no changes for me. that probably doesn't even make sense to most of you...basically, everything's the same ANYWAY!

i digress...

most of you already know this but for those who don't, miss julie ross or the life of a cupcake as you may know her as, is one of my nearest & dearest friends who i definitely do not get to spend as much time with lately as i would love to. she is one of my most favourite people. she has an intoxicating smile and it is literally impossible for you to not have a great time when she's around...she really does light up a room!! & she is coming to visit me in peterborough this weekend & i am oh soooo excited

this morning i woke up and felt something really warm & fuzzy on my back, miss andy electric cuddled right up beside me...we had the cutest cuddles this morning! she's such a cutie (well, when she wants to be, haha she's definitely got some sassy pants too) i love moments like that with her. i realize that i'm lame but anyone with an animal knows exactly what i mean...

i slept in til noon today; i couldn't believe it!

i usually can only do that when i'm hungover.

it's kind of crappy outside, definitely not as nice as it has been the past 2 weeks. i will be heading to fabricland again today and maybe some thirft shops, i need fabric...lots and lots of fabric!

anyway, better get my butt in gear...

i'm so proud of myself!!

my very first skirt...it took me about 2 hours but i am SO pleased with the end result and that i made something that i can actually wear and show off; eeeee! & yes, those are cute floral pockets. isn't the fabric adorable too? little hot air balloons...

tomorrow night, a pale pink skirt with a white elastic waist band and some white lace on the bottom. i am going to make SO many of these, i can just tell! they are so fun to wear too!

mikey went to go pick up our underwater photos today from when we went snorkelling in dominican, they turned out okay...they're fun & i'm glad we got them but kind of expensive in the long run! here's a few:

so, right now i am freaking out a little...

without going into too much detail (as i don't like sharing eeeverything on my blog as it is still public) i have a pretty big decision to make in regards to work & i'm feeling very uncertain right now...not the best feeling so hopefully i make my decision soon! to take my mind off things i am going to try my hand at making a skirt. i saw a cute DIY online & bought some fun fabric yesterday so i will let you know how it turns out! im kinda nervous, i've never made a piece of clothing before...that and i haven't used my sewing machine in awhile!
