( time to recharge )

i realize that i haven't had much of a regular blogging schedule as of late & that is because the end of school was really busy for me, but also i just didn't care enough to turn on my computer & spend time online. not turning on the computer for 3 days, in this household, is kind of a big deal.

i'm slowly realizing that i need to take more time for myself & take better care of myself. i spend too much time online. it is easy to get caught up in the internet world and next thing you know it's been 3 hours and you should have been cleaning up your house, excerising or doing something productive. i've realized that i sit too much. the weather is starting to get nicer and i need to become more active as well. i feel like i sat this entire winter. sitting is great after a long day but a long day/season of sitting, not so great.

i'll still be around, i wouldn't ditch you guys forever. but everyone needs a time to recharge, right? if you don't, well kudos...but i do. i figure with the end of school and having a bit more time to relax/figure things out, now is a good time. so with that i say adios for a wee bit; a week, a month, only a few days...i'm not sure yet, but i'll be back.

if you don't read her blog yet, you need to. i have the biggest girl crush on her and there is no hiding it! i'd like to say that we're like the same person ('cept she lives in utah) but that would be giving myself way too much credit, i am so not as cool as her. ugh, i love her...& yes, she knows (no this isn't creepy) okay, maybe a little.

kinda stressed out lately about a few things...ugh!! this week will be my last week of my first year of college; pretty crazy! i honestly feel like i've only been there a few months. a year truly flies right on by! i'm looking forward to being done & enjoying the summer. i have a job interview this wednesday so send some positive vibes my way about that as i desperately need a second job for the summer.

i really just want this week to be over now, please.

see this chair? it's part of a couch/chair set that i bought at value village last night & i am madly, madly in love with them both [ps: how cute is that cat?]

the colouring is fantastic (it's more golden than it looks in these photos) & it goes great in our living room as our floors are hardwood & it just matches perfectly. those tissue paper pom poms i bought on etsy from pom love for $13 & they are so fun. i believe they are supposed to be hung from the ceiling but we were having troubles with tacks in ours (not working) so mikey had the idea to pin them to the wall like this & i think they look even better this way! i want a hundred more!

& this...is the couch. are you dying a little bit inside? i know i did when i saw them! did i mention how in love with them i am?? i will need to find some pretty brown/golden pillows to match :)

i found these icecream salt & pepper shakers at an antique store awhile back & had to have them! i understand why people collect s&p shakers, there are SO many cute ones!

i LOVE our kitchen floors & pretty much cried when i saw them, haha...kidding, sort of. that gumball machine needs gumballs in it, i'm going later today to get some to fill it up!

she loves sitting here now that it's warm enough to have the windows open! there are so many big windows in this house, it's wonderful!! makes me miss our 12ft windows in the loft a little bit less.

i got this last night at value village (along with the couch/chair set) i love the pattern so much!! i'd love pillows in this pattern for the couch...

some of my favourite things in this photo. those tea/sugar/coffee canisters i got for $20 at an antique store, that peace sign candle i will never burn because it's too awesome, the new (to me) pot, the little owl my friend lianne got for me & the s&p shakers!

& more cute things i love! my hello kitty tea kettle & teddy bear/honeypot cookie jar...that i actually keep my vitamins in.

i bought these glasses at VV last night as well. i just loved the colours.

once i get all of the rooms in our place looking how i want them to, i will do a home tour for sure...but for now, you'll just have to wait (& see snippets here and there)

yesterday afternoon i went for beers and food with some friends & we ended up spending a good portion of the afternoon there. i was feeling fine all day until i got a migraine around 11pm, then my tummy started feeling really funny & i was feeling nauseous (side note: i've thrown up a total of maybe a dozen times in my entire life...not including when i was a baby/younger) i just don't get sick in that way hardly ever. anyway, around 12:30am i went into the living room, told mikey i wasn't feeling well then proceeded to the bathroom where well...you know. i went to bed & was woken up again with the feeling like i was going to be sick...annnd i was. all day today i have been feeling sick and yucky. we're thinking it was food poisoning from where i ate (which, will not stop me from eating there in the future) anyway, it was a really weird and it wasted my day today (which the weather has been glorious out!)

anyway, i'm looking forward to tomorrow as lianne & i are going to hit up some antique stores on the way to bobcaygeon, do some shopping & walking around & then go to my parents cottage for dinner, then head back home. richy (one of my bffs) is coming to visit this weekend too, we're having people over saturday night then going downtown for some karaoke ♥ i'm excited!!

again i apologize for my absence/lack of posting this week...it was a busy one as i had a bunch of tests for school & a 6 page report & some assignments due. obviously i am so very thankful that this week is over! i did get some time in there for fun things though as well like...

+ dying my hair (yes, this is a 'fun thing' for me)

i actually used a natural black hair dye...which i never thought i'd do

+ hungout/had some beers with friends

mikey's sister andrea is back in town after travelling for 6 months so it's nice to have her home. she had lots of stories!!

+ making a yummy dinner & enjoying a night in with mikey

& this weekend i am looking forward to:

+ work tomorrow (yes, i love my job. weird, eh? you would too if you worked at H&M with awesome people!)

+ going to toronto to visit julie for sunday/monday

+ getting a free haircut

[julie works at a salon and they needed someone for a class which means free haircut for me! which is perfect as it reaaaaally needs a trim; it's been over 6 months]

i'm really REALLY excited for hangouts with julie. she is one of my all-time favourite people ever & i love her to bits!! we're known each other for...hm, well since i was in grade 10 or 11 soooo quite a few years now (9?) anyway, she's one of the best people i have ever met and i can't wait to see her. she makes my heart smile ♥

( new backpack: medium control )

i ordered this backpack from a seller called mediumcontrol on etsy & it arrived on my doorstop today. i'm very impressed with the quality of it (considering the price - $45) & can't wait to use it tomorrow for school. i've been needing a backpack for a long time as my shoulders/back always seem to be in pain from using a large purse to carry all of my textbooks & notebooks & things to school. i'm hoping this will help! what i originally wanted was a really great leather backpack, however after checking out their price tags, i just couldn't afford to buy one. anyway, i think this backpack is great! i didn't want to just go to a store and pick up a backpack just because i needed one, so i was happy when i came across this company! also, they were donating to the red cross japan relief fund in march when i made the purchase.

now what i need next to help my back, is a new office chair...one that i am able to sit up properly in and that's not so comfy/large. i think it has something to do with the slant that this room is on too...slanty house, we live in!

it has been a super busy weekend...i worked everyday & went out with some girlfriends last night for a yummy dinner (perch from brio, mmm!) we went out for drinks & dancing afterwards which was a lot of fun & do you want to hear the most random thing/moment that has happened to me in forever??

okay. so my friend dawn (who i work with at H&M) was at the bar we were at and so she invited me over to meet her friends...so she introduced me to a few people, then she goes "kyle, this is carly" (& vice versa) and we both are just looking at each other like oh my god, there's no way this is who i think this is...well, it was. i had not seen this guy since i was in nursery school so like 21 years ago...and yet we both recognized each other, how crazy is that? we went to the same nursery school in my hometown (which is 1.5 hours away from where i live now) he's lived here since grade 5 apparently and ya, holy crap...my mind was blown. the best part is, he used to torment the crap out of me. i seriously hated this kid and i was sure to tell him so last night, lol (no hard feelings anymore) my mum always said the boys who pick on you, like you...i should have asked him if he had a crush on me and that's why he set out to ruin my pre-school life, hahaha.

anywho. so weird. saturday was a good day though as i found out about my placement for school (i will get more details tomorrow) and i am super stoked for it to start...and also had my review at work which went really well too! now i'm beat & ready for bed...

gosh, i love me a skirt with pockets!

dare i say...my hair's getting so long that some days it just really bothers me when i wear it down. i even googled shorter haircuts the other day. don't worry, i'm not planning on making the cut, just a momentary lapse in judgement. also, i like that my hair looks freshly dyed in these photos...meanwhile i was thinking just this morning that it needs to be dyed soon. i can now actually tell when it needs to be dyed/how much it's grown by that one teeny grey hair in my bangs!
