i just recently rediscovered this necklace as i was digging through my clothes for my shop my closet sale and found this...then remembered how much i love it so threw it on!

i wore this out on wednesday night for a girls night :) i'm thankful for my lady friends who keep me sane.

a list of the little things

i easily find myself getting stressed or feeling overwhelmed. lately with school starting back up, having two jobs and other committments as well, i remind myself that i often put too much on my plate...which is how i've been feeling lately. i've never really found a way to manage my stress as often i find i just don't have the time to do the things i want to do to feel less stressed.

so i ask you,

what little things do you do to deal with stress & make life more manageable?

a few little things that have been keeping me going:

♥ my friends, they are truly wonderful.

♥ a phone call from my mum at the exact moment i needed to hear her voice & have her talk me down from my stress-induced panic attack

♥ mikey...he's really, really great to me! i could go on and on about all of the little cutesy things he does...but i won't.

♥ having things to look forward to like:

- the lumbermens first show next fri (mikey is the drummer)

- spending some time at the cottage next weekend (sun-mon)

- viamede resort in a few weekends with some amazing friends

- our hallowe'en party

& that's all just in the coming month. i told you i'm looking forward to october. okay, well...that little list has already made me feel better, i clearly just needed to remind myself how great life truly is......& we can't forget that tomorrow is the beginning of the:

i'd be lying if i said i wasn't excited for that!!

( fun facts: glasses from bleudame)

i have 4 or 5 different pairs of glasses...with clear lenses in them!

it's not like i think i'm trying to fool anyone...most people know i wear them as an accessory. these are my newest ones from bleudame & they were about $12! they're my new faves, for sure! i especially love the cat eye shape.

delicious & healthy: lunchtime

ingredients for this salad:

+ spinach leaves or a spring mix

+ creamy cucumber salad dressing

+ half an avocado

+ almonds

+ peeled sunflower seeds

+ raisins

= complete & total yum!

mmm! i wish i could take credit for coming up with this delicious concotion but i can't...my friend lianne introduced me to it. i added raisins as well as i think they make a nice sweet touch. try this out, you won't regret it!

( october? + october giveaway details )

is anyone else freaked out by the fact that saturday is october 1st? ACK!my favourite month is almost over (though i think it will have to carry over onto october as really it's the fall weather that is my favourite part & we haven't had much of that this september) i really love fall and well, this summer weather has been continuing on far too long for my liking. i've been reviewing my september goals & so far, so good. i won't have read two books by the end of the week, but i've been busy with the rest of the goals so that's not so bad!

on a different note, i just wanted to let you guys know how much i love you. i love this little blogging community so very much. i love getting comments and reading everyone else' blog (ps: i've been having troubles commenting lately...i have to do it as anonymous, so i apologize for that) anyway, to say a big THANK YOU i'm going to be hosting a GIVEAWAY at the beginning of october (next week!) it's going to be super awesome, promise. i'm still finalizing a few details, but i hope to have a giveaway-a-day for an entire week, if not more! you will definitely not be disappointed with the people/shops participating! i'm also going to be regularly posting a section to the blog called shop my closet i will be adding new items later this week!

so my good friend lianne came over last night & was wearing an amazing poncho that she had thrifted that day from a great local vintage boutique in town called sympathy for the rebel (hi ryan!) and it inspired me to find my own...and in the meantime, window shop on etsy!

i think this one might be my favourite...though it's really hard to choose!

i totally couldn't get away with this colourful patchwork poncho but i think elycia or kaylah could, don't you??

having some friends over tonight, pretty excited that i didn't have to work a double today, it doesn't happen too often so i am embracing it with open arms (see: getting drunk)
