around the blogosphere: the last one of 2o11

katja posted this super cute, super simple wall clock DIY over on her blog today!

today is this pretty gals birthday!! so pop on over to her blog: misslarissabree & wish her a happy birthday :)

these nails are ready to party!

elizabeth from delightfully tacky has been sharing her wedding photos this week. i loooove her dress & the fact that it was her mothers. the light, pretty colours she chose are great too, everything looked so lovely!

i love this idea for a doilie wall, found on reasons to celebrate

i've been following janel (of run with scissors) for quite a few years now, but i just have to say...she is one of my favourite people/bloggers. she absolutely has the biggest heart i have ever come across and i find daily inspiration in her projects & photos. ps: her new blog re-design is freaking amazing!!!

it's also one more important persons birthday today:

my dad!!

happy birthday dad, i know you'll have a great time tonight (you always do!) i love you so much!!

well guys, that's it for 2o11 - the next post will be happening in 2o12. i hope that everyone has a safe & happy new year!

me & erin (i had to include the 'were not ready' photo)

there's the good one!

i was so thankful that i had a week at home this year. not working retail meant i didn't have to rush home for boxing day to work. this was our last christmas in my parents house, the one my brother & i grew up in. next year they'll be both be retired & at the 'cottage'. my whole family, except for my brother & carrie will be moving up north (towards my way) in 2012. big changes for my family...kyle & carrie buying a house, my mum retiring, my parents selling our house & moving, both of my grammas moving as well...exciting things! i'm excited for 2012, 2011 was a pretty awesome year but i have a good feeling about 2012...

i'll be posting my 'resolutions' soon. i say 'resolutions' since really i make them year round, so these will just be my january goals.

a quick hello + giveaway winner!

hi guys!! how is everyone doing?

i've been super absent from blogworld over for almost a week & for that i apologize but i was too busy visiting with friends & family to spend time infront of the computer.

did everyone have a lovely christmas and holidays? mine was great! it was sooo nice to head home to my parents for almost a full week and meet up with friends i hadn't seen in awhile. i'll post some photos from my christmas in the next few days as well...

BUT! when i got home, this was waiting for me in my inbox:

isn't it adorable? it's me! katja from maedchenmitherz illustrated it for me from a giveaway i won on her blog! i think it's so great & i love that she (i'm) holding a little camera.

anyway, i haven't been home for a week so there's lots to do around the house, cleaning & putting away presents & such so i'll be back more in the next few days...hope everyone is enjoying their holidays!!

ps: the winner of the please note giveaway is the the darling ewe she also has an adorable etsy shop with lots of knitted goods!

smitten for knittin' part II

i've been knitting up a storm lately & i love it!

i found this yarn at an antique store, $2 for 2 rolls & i used up both rolls for this project, so this tunnel scarf only cost me $2 to make. this one is for a friend and i am currently knitting a mustard yellow one. i have 2 more scarves to do, 1 for my gramma & 1 for another friend. knitting is so calming & it also stops me from snacking when watching tv/movies at night (bonus!)

do you knit? have you been making any special projects for christmas presents?

christmas time!

mikey bought me a tripod for christmas and this mirror flash accessory from photojojo (which by the way is amazing. i've never ever been a fan of the flash due to how unnatural it is but this makes photos look lovely - as shown above!) anyway, so we played around a little with it after opening gifts on monday night. i'm heading home to my parents place on friday and between his work & other things we had going on, monday was the only day we could do it. anyway, he spoiled me rotten. a tripod (no more mirror outfit photos you guys! are you excited?) the flash accessory, an obey top i had been lusting after, a hello kitty cookie jar and a 1hr massage from a spa, which i will be enjoying tomorrow at 4:30, wahoo!

i can't wait to go home for christmas! since i'm not working retail anymore (first time in about 10 years) i actually get to spend a lot more time at home as i don't have to rush back for boxing day. so i'm heading home from the 23rd to the 28th and there's lots of things happening in between. i'm super excited to see both my family & my friends from home that i don't get to see nearly as often as i'd like!

style icon: celebrity stylist, britt bardo

i'm sure it's no secret that i LOVE big rings...and that i am obsessed with accessories. anyways, this celerbrity stylist is all about that too, which means i am now in love and obsessed with her.

sponsor miss teacups in january

are you interested in sponsoring the miss teacups blog for january?

if so, here's the deal...if you've been around for awhile then this will be old hat, if you're new here's the details...

i run sponsorships a little differently around here (cost free) whether you have an etsy shop or blog, here's how you can be a sponsor:

host a giveaway

...yup, it's that easy!

(this can be an item from your shop or just something you'd think my readers would like to win, put together by you)

*this is a good way to promote your etsy shop or just get more readers on their way over to your blog/twitter, etc. if you have an item you'd like to send me from your etsy shop, i would be happy to style it in an outfit post and/or do a review of your product/shop*

here's some stats for those who like numbers:
i currently range anywhere from 150-300 views per day (with a high of up to 500, usually when giveaways are taking place) last month i had over 6,500+ visits to my blog. i have a wide range of readers/visitors from all over the world

if you're interested in ad swapping, let me know. i'm down with that too.
send me an email to dear.love@live.ca & let's chat more!

outfit post: violet bella, free people & blowfish shoes!

outfit details:

black long sleeve dress - H&M

crochet tank - free people

scarf - H&M

earring - roots&feathers

(with my feather earring, crocheted tank & earth tones, i felt a little like laura of violet bella)

so i recieved my roots&feathers earring in the mail the same day my free people order came in and i knew i had to wear them together. on black friday i checked out some of the online deals & holy moly free people was having amazing deals...like, really amazing! i got this tank/dress/overlay/beautiful item for $10...ya, TEN DOLLARS! considering it was retailed at over $100 i was pretty shocked. it's a size large but i didn't care, it's to wear over things annnnd i wanted it to be mine! i love free people so very much but the price tags usually hurt...

isn't it pretty?
lauras items are beautifully handmade.

& my boots...can't forget about these beauties!
these here are my jersy boots from blowfish shoes you probably can't tell from the photos but they are a rich chocolate brown & i love the style. i can throw these bad boys on with anything...even a super feminine crocheted dress!
