( wunderlust )

this blog wunderlust is my new favourite.

i'm pretty much convinced that she lives in a fairy tale.

see for yourself...

( sidenote: her hair is perfect )

( what i wore: wednesday )

outfit details:

button up - H&M

shorts - passed down from a friend

tights - H&M

boots - steve madden

belt - piece of braided rope from fabricland

this top is becoming one of my faves.

i just love the oversized look/feel of it; so comfy!!

dirty mirror, sorry! ugh, you can almost see my dead ends from back here... i'm desperately in need of a trim. i had class today for a couple hours, did an easy test and now i'm home. luckily i was here when the purolator man came with my F21 purchases. i bought a few pretty, girly skirts (so cheap!) for my spring wardrobe. i also got passed down several cute pairs of shorts from my friend lianne who was cleaning out her closet/getting rid of things that don't fit her anymore (in a good way, she's lost so much weight & looks awesome - hi lianne!)

anyway, she's motivated me to clean out my closet and get rid of stuff i just don't wear anymore... maybe i'll do another shop my closet on here. would you guys be interested in that?

tomorrow i will be drawing the winner of amys giveaway

( changes )

to keep this somewhat short & not so text heavy, i'm just going to make a list of things i'm changing in my life...i felt the need to document it somewhere so that i'm not the only one who can remind myself of things on this list if i start to sway:

(1) exercising.

i started again yesterday with lianne & it felt really good. it's so much easier to stay motivated when you have a friend to help you along. keep at this girl, it makes you feel good; remember that feeling!

(2) eating healthy gives you less tummy aches.

for me, this is huge as i've kind of always dealt with tummy aches/having a sensitive stomach all of my life and i think i've finally figured out what triggers it. plus eating healthy makes me feel really, really good (i know..DUH!) i've started eating healthier snacks and meals and my body is reacting positively.

(3) reading & going for walks makes/keeps you happy.

mikey once said i seem happiest when i'm reading which i found sort of funny/amusing as i'm just reading, how can he tell if i'm happy? but reading does make me happy. it allows me to loose myself in another world for a bit and forget about this one (not that this one's so terrible, but we all need a break sometimes & reading is my daily break)

(4) dates with friends are always a good thing.

you are someone who needs to talk about your feelings. when you don't, you break down and shut people out...this is bad. i've always been a social butterfly (as my mum/teachers used to say) and this isn't a bad thing. it just means i need to spend a certain amount of time each week, out and about, doing things. this will be easier as the weather gets nicer too.

(5) stop talking, start doing

i'm a list maker, i like making lists & i like checking things off that list. however, lately i've felt no motivation towards getting things done (i still do what's necessary) but things that have been on my list for a long time (ie: work on our bedroom. it's the only room in the house that needs a lot of work) i have things on this never ending list that i actually want to start checking off and accomplishing

(6) & when all else fails...

have a cuppa tea!

( bubbles )

well since this blog is named teacups & bubble baths i thought i'd share this photo mikey took of me in the tub a few weeks ago. it's kind of hard to see just how tall the bubbles were but it was getting so out of control i had to turn the jets off. once there's bubble bath in there, and the jets are turned on, the bubbles just multiply & multiply...you really don't need much bubble bath at all. anyway, i learned my lesson! i thought they were totally going to engulf me...death by bubbles, wouldn't be so bad i guess.

( navajo )

navajo prints and native inspired prints and clothing/accessories are definitely one of the best trends out there right now. i can't get enough of it! mocassins, leather bags, pretty rings, colourful prints...amazing.

i love belts with pretty detailing; this one is great!

this sweater looks so cozy...and awesome!

this is also one of my fave etsy shops.

sure these shorts may be a little out there...but i think the feathers just make them super adorable and fun!!

mocassins (in my mind, anyway) go with everything. i'd love a white leather pair like these little guys...

if you're not swooning over this knapsack, your heart's not working properly!

the print on this skirt is amazing. i love the colours!

if you've been around with me for a bit on this blog, you'd know that i love love love navajo/native rings like this one. i have one similar with a green stone that my mum gave me, that i wear almost everyday! the detail is always so beautiful...
this is the best thing i've 'favourited' on etsy in the last couple of months...it's incredible and i'd probably do just about anything to have it on my hand.

this skirt is so gorgeous, don't you love it??

are you loving or hating the navajo trend?

( neutral etsy faves )

love love love this crocheted vest...so in love with crocheted anything right now; favourite!

i'm obsessed with this dress...you can't see the pretty detailing in this (tiny) photo but if you go to the etsy listing you can see how gorgeous it is. if i was by any chance getting married this summer, i would seriously consider this an option! simple, pretty & different.

this dress is so cuuuute!

you have no idea how incredibly perfect this dress is...
okay, maybe you do! another dress with a gorgeous back...*sigh*

how cutesy are these little shoesies?
i love this cowl & have a small...okay, not so small obsession with tunnel scarves. this one looks super cozy!!
i'm really into neutrals lately, can you tell? and anything feminine and pretty. i realized i need to add more pretty pieces to my wardrobe!

( curtains )

this is the first thing that i've sewn in a really long time & i was super surprised at how short of a time it took me. between cutting the fabric, sewing the rough edges, etc...it probably took about 40 mins. no time at all! the above photo is the best of the fabric as that's exactly what it looks like in real-life...the below photos are a bit harder to tell as the sun was shining in!
this is my craft room/office/closet

aren't they pretty?
i love this fabric (aka: old bedsheet) so much! i thrifted it for $4.99 a long time ago and was waiting for the perfect time to use it!
i think this qualifies.
i'm so proud!! i've been meaning to get around to this for quite some time now (as this is also where i get dressed & i'm pretty sure at night with the lights on, people could see in...even though we're on the top floor & there's a balcony blocking the view) anyway, they're done, finally!

( magic bullet )

hey ladies & gents...er, gent? i think i have one boy follower, the very adorable mr. colby kern (shout outs! if there's any others, say hi!)
anywho, the magic bullet has been getting a lot of action in our house the last few weeks (not that kind of magic bullet, get your head out of the gutter) but the kind that makes delicious smoothies...

...like this one that i so skillfully balanced on my head, haha. i had one this morning that had frozen mangos, banana yogurt & milk in it...that was my breaky. this afternoon, my smoothie is a little more grown up, with frozen mangos, strawberry yogurt, some leftover raspberry vodka (thanks els!) & milk...happy hour smoothies :) yum!! & with the magic bullet, it's so easy, it only takes 10 seconds!! haha, yes i've seen the infomercial one too many times, no they're not paying me to say this. anyway, i forsee a shit ton of smoothies in my future. a shit ton, i tell ya.

YUM!

check out elycias healthy smoothie here she definitely seems a little more adventurous in her smoothie-making endeavours then moi!

now i'm going to attempt to make some curtains for my room. i've never made curtains before, i'm not using a pattern & i have absolutely NO idea what i'm doing. yes i'll show you when i'm done :)
