so this time last year i was exactly where i am today - cuba

last year mikey & i went with bryan (mikey's brother) & jess (bryan's gf) and we had a blast! we had been all-inclusive the year before to dominican republic & had an awesome time and going with another couple last year was a lot of fun. we're sad that they can't come this year but it will also be nice just the two of us as well...

tumbleweeds

unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard of tumbleweeds sunglasses...they are adorable handmade wooden sunglasses and i fell in love with them the moment i saw them. i've always had a thing for sunglasses...i probably own about 8-10 pairs but the ones below are officially on my wish list. they are their newest style & i am in love...

...no i don't have an announcement to make ;) i am just sending all of the positivity and love and strength and hugs and kisses today to janel and adam who are waiting for 'the call' from the birth mother (who is being induced today!) of their soon-to-be baby, amelia. i couldn't be happier for this couple as they have been through so much over the past couple of years.

yesterday was my last day of classes & i'm officially on reading break!

i worked last night, today & saturday night and then monday afternoon we are off to cuba for the week! i'm not one of those super organized bloggers who prepared for my week hiatus and scheduled guest bloggers so there will be a bit of a lull around here but hey...we can't all be perfect bloggers, can we?

that girl

i will not hide the fact (get it...eh? eh?) that i love tiffany's products...that girl crochet is a wonderful etsy shop run by tiffany (who is a GEM!) she makes the softest, coziest & most affordable scarves i've seen/felt/owned! seriously, she's practically giving them away at the prices she charges...

i now own 3 of her scarves and seriously love them oh-so much. it gets mighty cold here in canada...though it's been a fairly mild winter, it can get awfully windy & i still need to wear a scarf everyday. tiffany's have been keeping me warm this winter.

she was kind enough to send me this little pretty and it couldn't have come at a better time. just when i was in my colour rut, she sends me this gorgeous fuschia/purple scarf. it looks a bit darker in these photos than it is in real life...trust me when i say it's the prettiest colour.

tiffany and i have been friends for awhile now. i remember the first time she contacted me with the sweetest email about starting up her etsy shop and how much she liked my blog and if she could run a giveaway & send me a sweet scarf...how could i say no to that? since then i've become a major fan of her shop & love spreading the that girl love as she has wonderful products but is also a fantastic person! she also makes the cutest knitted coffee cozies, baby items and bows!

just so you know, it's totally normal for straight girls to crush out on other straight girls...and it happens more times than i care to even admit! straight crushes are different than regular crushes because it's not an "oh my gosh, i want to date you" kind of feeling, instead it's an "oh my gosh, i want to befriend you SO bad!" kind of feeling, haha...that kind of makes me sound like a creeper, but do you know what i mean?? it happens SO much to me in blog world...i'll come across a new blogger and peruse their archives and things just click. i want to be her friend. i want to share clothes. i want to have coffee with her. i want to go shopping with her........ya know? i don't even care if this doesn't happen to you too (lol) i'm totally fine with girl crushing all by my lonesome, but the thing is that i know i'm not alone. anyways, here is my most recent girl crush, christen of two happy hearts her style is impeccable, i think she's absolutely stunning and yes, i totally want to be her friend IRL! (that means 'in real life'...learned it the other day from iris who i do know IRL)
