around the blogosphere

i haven't done an 'around the blogosphere' post recently...which doesn't mean i haven't been seeing awesome bits, it just means that august has flown by & i've been super busy & haven't had much time for blogging.

 my favourite month is almost here - september! i hope it brings some cooler fall weather because 30 degrees & sweaty just isn't cutting it for me anymore...

alice from one of my favourite blogs niceties has opened an etsy shop...and she's incredibly talented. i almost don't want to share this because i am selfish and want the above piece so badly myself.

lisa from lisa from scratch has introduced me to nail stamping...what the what, she did that design herself guys! my little nail-art-loving mind is blown...which means i immediately went to ebay and purchased a super cheap nail stamping kit because i want my nails to look this awesome too!! 

this girl from song of style has amazing fashion sense. if you're looking for a new fashion blog to gain inspiration from, let it be this one.

i won an awesome giveaway from kristina of simply bold blog for a custom skirt (shown above) in my choice of fabric from this adorable etsy shop katie jean in which i have many a 'favourited' item on etsy. her bridal pieces are amazing...i'd love my wedding dress to be designed by her...like this one or this one

i came home from being away for two days at the toronto shoe show to this surprise from the mister. i had his initials tattooed on my lip about a year ago & now he's done the same for me. he chose this font because i "blog and stuff" (direct quote) and it's kind of typewritery...the teacup is for obvious reasons, plus he once said "how did an ugly mug like me get a cute teacup like you?" so i've always been his teacup. mushy gushy lovey dovey.

i love my job, want to know why? because for the next 3 days i get to hang with this little dude, surround myself in pretty shoes at the trade show in toronto, sleep in a big bed all to myself & spend time with my awesome bosses.

thrifted these booties today from sympathy, which is awesome as i've been wanting a pair like this for so very long! i've been having some great cowboy boot scores from sympathy lately.

the pretty packaging and amazing necklace i was talking about in the post below...i have it on today & it is not leaving my neck, let me tell you!

the rest of my week is busy; lots of working, going for a sushi dinner for a friends birthday tomorrow, family reunion at my parents place saturday and then i'm in toronto for a shoe trade show (!!!) sunday-tuesday. exciting times my friends :)

don't you love stumbling across an etsy shop that you absolutely adore every.single.piece? it's refreshing really, as sometimes i surf through etsy and it's rare to come across a shop where i'd love to own every item. in my recent etsy travels i came across this shop called handmade by inali & i fell in love.

i quickly snapped up this turquoise horn pendant because it looked absolutely amazing & i was right!  

i received my package from inali this morning & it was packaged beautifully, it shipped quickly & she even included a little free gift! i love shopping handmade because you can really tell the amount of care & love that goes into each piece!

this week i:

 celebrated 4 1/2 years with this handsome guy. these photobooth pictures were taken on our one year anniversary in toronto

we had lots of drinks & dinner at everest. it was a lovely visit, one that i wish hadn't of been so quick :(

today i am having visits from another bff, lianne. she's coming to town for the next couple days which is awesome as we haven't seen each other for a few months!

this past week has felt pretty long. i've been having troubles sleeping which is never fun and for some reason i wake up and my mind is racing (with nothing in particular, which is strange...it's not like i have a lot on my mind or anything) anyway, i'm hoping to catch up on sleep this week!

i finally DIY'd a pair of shorts that i am in love with, naturally at the end of the summer. thankfully pantyhose & shorts is a go-to in carly land for fall. 

today i'm off to toronto to meet up with my bestie aly & her boy jamie. mikey is there already for a trade show for work so we're going to meet up for dinner! i'm super excited as it's been a year since i've seen the two of them & i always love toronto visits! plus both al & i have been dating our boyfriends for over 4 years & they haven't met yet!
